I've just cut up this large ash tree, which has been lying in a local field since the summer. Although the base is rotten, there's some beautiful wood further up the trunk.

This is one of the most difficult designs I've attempted so far and a truly remarkable piece. At nearly 23 inches across, it's certainly rather large!

Back in March, I rough turned a batch of tea light holder blanks and they're now dry enough to complete. With so many patterns on display, I can't wait to see them all in a line!

I've just introduced a new supersize bowl, as part of my range of natural edge designs. At two feet in diameter, this is officially the largest yew bowl I've ever turned and is made from a single piece of wood.

First of all, I'd like to wish you all a belated Merry Christmas! - I've been incredibly busy over the past few weeks and had little chance of updating my blog. However, I was processing some more of the elm this morning and took some photo's of this beauty.

These must be the smallest elm burrs I've had to date, though beautiful none the less! As you may have guessed, these are the first pieces made from my stack of elm and they're packed with rustic features
